About the Course

PARLE French B1 is an intermediate French course designed for students ready to move beyond foundational communication and begin developing greater independence, fluency, and confidence in everyday and academic French. Intended for learners who already possess a solid understanding of beginner and elementary French structures, the course focuses on strengthening comprehension, expression, reading, writing, and conversational ability through a more immersive and applied learning experience.

Throughout the academic year, students will continue expanding vocabulary, grammatical understanding, reading comprehension, and written communication while becoming more comfortable participating in longer conversations and expressing opinions, experiences, goals, and ideas in French. Lessons are structured to encourage more natural communication habits while supporting consistent progression across practical, cultural, and academic contexts.

Students will engage with more developed reading passages, written exercises, conversational frameworks, and increasingly complex language structures designed to strengthen confidence and long-term language retention. The course encourages learners to engage more independently with French media, culture, and communication while continuing to build fluency through structured weekly progression and guided practice.

As students continue through the PARLE curriculum, course structures are also designed to support long-term academic language development and future preparation aligned with DELF, DALF, IELTS, and TOEFL-style language progression and study habits.
